
Jamie Rojo has been topped European Wildlife Photographer of the 12 months for his picture, Within the Forest of the Monarchs, exhibiting thousands and thousands of monarch butterflies weighing down fir timber.
The competitors is organized by the German Society for Nature Images (GDT) which acquired over 18,000 photographers throughout 38 nations.
The worldwide judging panel picked Rojo’s picture for its stunning illustration of monarch butterflies captured in Mexico’s El Rosario butterfly sanctuary which they journey hundreds of miles from North America to overwinter there.
